yucky belly

Okay, ladies...I need some advice....

I was banded on July 19th....so, about 2 1/2 weeks ago. I am doing primarily liquids, and mushies. I have this dull pain in my stomach area, on the inside. I don't know if this is normal, or if it is something that I should go see the dr. about. It is beginning to piss me off!! I had trouble sleeping last night-getting comfy, etc. I still can't sleep on my belly-it just hurts too much. I am shocked that it has taken this long to recover....I am starting to get discouraged...Any thoughts would be so appreciated!

My belly still hurts,
DeeDee

  1. Is the pain near your port? I had some lingering pain around the port site for a few weeks after surgery. It was really the only pain that lasted past the first couple of days.

I would bring it up to your doc though - they will be able to tell you for sure if it is something to be worried about or not.

  4. I was sore for about 6 weeks around my port. The cat used to jump on my stomach and I would have to push him off. I still get an ache under my ribs and into my left shoulder when I eat too much. I think it is referred pain. If it concerns you, you should call your doc. It is better to be reassured than to worry that something is wrong.

  6. I didn't sleep on my belly for months, and at 5+ months out, I still feel pain around my port. Give your doc a call and check to see what they say, though.

  8. Hang in there. I am 2 weeks out. I get a sharp twinge at my port site whenever I turn that way or put any pressure on it. I think we jsut need to give it some more time. This is just how long it takes us to recover--it's not too much time--it just is.
